Hello @cassini,
This is strange... It's not the result that I have for your members...
Are you sure the user who showed you this screenshot was connected as member on the forum? Because your Guests do not have permissions to reply or open a new topics.
EDIT : If you are sure the member is connected, could you please give me, as example, the Username of the user who can not reply and create new topic.
Thank you, regards!

Re: Still Unable To Get Moderator Access For Member
hello
iam lost here
you want that member to be in the group moderator and have access to all categories right?
or do you want that member to have access to all categories without being in a group?
why did you make a separate group with that member's name as a hidden group?
if I am correct you want only you and that member to post on your forum
all other members or guests only read without being able to postreply-write?
so you have the group admin / founder
and you want another group lets say Captures Mods with cassini and Kerveros inside with post and read rights to all categories
you make all categories closed write and reply to members and guests / open to view and read
you make all categories write , reply, view, read to groups admin /founder and Captures Mods
this way if i registered to your forum i will be a plain member i can only read without reply if you add me to the group captures i can only be able to reply

Re: Still Unable To Get Moderator Access For Member
Hello Skouliki
In just a few words, I only want myself and Kerberos to create topics and post members can only view what is posted.
I have copied the same set up from my other forums which work, however for some unknown reason this forum which is my oldest does not seem to apply what I have set up.
I have spent far too long on this and at the end of today I will give up and make Kerberos Admin

Re: Still Unable To Get Moderator Access For Member
@cassini,
I think the reason for your confusion is that there are a couple different ways to accomplish what your trying to do depending which permission structure you want to use.
There are 2 ways to manage permissions:
1. By Groups (this is the method I prefer personally as it is WAY easier to manage)
2. By individual user
It appears to me that you tried to manage the permissions for the individual user, when you want to instead be managing group permissions.
What you want to do is add the member to the Global Moderator group then make it so ONLY the global moderators + admins are able to write and reply and no other groups can.
So you basically want the permissions for that particular section to look similar to this (Super Moderators are what I call the Global Moderators on my forum so just pretend it says Global Moderators for the purposes of your forum):
Notice only the boxes for the groups administrators and global moderators are ticked and the boxes for all other groups are unticked. This is precisely how you want yours to look to accomplish what your trying to do. Then anyone in the global moderators group and the administrators group will be able to read, write and moderate that section. Using group permissions makes it much easier to add or remove users from particular groups over time and you don't have to sit there and change individual permissions in every single section.
I hope this helps you to understand how to do what your asking.

Re: Still Unable To Get Moderator Access For Member
@cassini,
Thanks for the test account. I had a look and I can confirm that everything is set up correctly permission wise. Your member should be able to make new topics and reply. I just took another look at the screenshot you provided that was from the member themselves and it appears the problem is that the new topic icon is not appearing for them, this could potentially be a browser related issue. Are they able to post new topic and/or reply on the public sections and see the icon ok? Can you ask the member to clear their browser cache and cookies and/or try on a different browser to see if their able to see the icon?
Just so you can see what I mean, here is a slightly edited version of the screenshot you posted above from your member, notice the permissions say "You CAN post new topics in this forum." and "You CAN reply to topics in this forum.", this means they should be able to post fine no problem. As for why the icon is not appearing, well that is the question. I was able to see the icon fine myself when I checked using the test account.
What I can tell you with 100% certainty though is that you have set up everything correctly, permissions wise there is no reason why that member can not post to forum.

Re: Still Unable To Get Moderator Access For Member
Hello Brandon
Thank you for taking the time to have a look which is most appreciated.
The member Kerberos has advised me that he makes sure he has deleted all his browser history before he comes onto the problem site. I have them set up the same way on my other site with no problems.

As you can see on the first site he can create topics however on the other site he has no topic button.
We both use Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome, the only solution is to make him have Admin rights, it's a real mystery

Hello @cassini,
Sorry, but what is the URL of your forum where you have this problem ?
Because, if I understand well, the forum in your profile is an old one, not the one we are talking about, right ?

Re: Still Unable To Get Moderator Access For Member
Hello @cassini,
Thank you.
I still don't know exactly what is happening, but I have the impression that there were (and still is) too many conflicting permissions on your forum.
I am sorry, but I already modified something (but it is still not enough).
First, if you want that in this forum "Austria News and Sport" the member could only read the topics, and Global Moderators could reply and create new topics, - why your permissions was set that all the members could reply and create topics ? On the page with Forum permissions you should always work in "Andvanced method". Also check the 4 permission above the big permissions table. So, this is how I settled the permissions for "Austria News ans Sport" (check, maybe you want to change something) :
Now, the members of Global Moderators group see the good message "You can post new topics... You can reply to topics".
BUT - they still don't see the button "New topic" I would like you to test something.
First, you have 2 Global announcements in this forum, but only Administrators have permissions to see this. Could you maybe change the permissions in the forum where they are posted and give the permission to view it to "Global moderators" ?
Also, maybe post a first topic in the forum.
Thank you.

@cassini,
The reason in fact is very simple : you put your forum "on holiday" (General > Forum > Configuration > Forum on holiday. )
Best regards.
